How do students see their counselors?

Students may be referred to the counselor by parents, teachers, administrators, or peers, or they may self-refer.

How do I register my son/daughter?

Please call the Guidance office at (757) 648-4861 to schedule an appointment for registration. For information on how to register your child and for a list of needed documents, please visit the Virginia Beach Public Schools Registration page.

How do I withdraw my son/daughter?

Notify the Guidance Office at least three days prior to student’s last day of attendance, if possible. Students must return all books and materials. Please provide the forwarding school address for our records. Withdrawal papers will be ready to be picked up at the end of the student’s last day.

How do I get make-up work for my son/daughter?

Guidance will collect and distribute make up work for students. Please refer to the steps below and let us know if you have any questions:

  1. Parents may request work by emailing or calling their grade level counselor after three consecutive absences.
  2. School Counselors will then email the student's teachers regarding make up work.
  3. Parents will be contacted when the work is ready for pick up
